We are seeking a very special home for this lovely boy who is in need of someone who would be dedicated to improving his health and managing his pain, due to severe hip dysplasia. He is in need of a quiet, dog and child free home where someone is at home most of the day.
He is a lively young pup who has had very little training and would therefore need to go to an experienced home who can bring him on in a gentle and sensitive manner.
It may be that his dysplasia can be improved by building up his muscles by way of weight bearing exercise i.e hydrotherapy and gentle walks to be built up slowly as his muscles become stronger. He will also need daily pain relief medication. It may be that he will eventually need a total hip replacement which will be paid for by the Charity, along with his daily medication and hydrotherapy sessions. However, a total hip replacement is a huge operation and would only be considered as a last resort.
It is important that any prospective homes who are interested in offering this boy a home are 100 per cent dedicated to improving his life and health. It would be a complete disaster if someone agreed to take him on and then gave up on him through this tough journey. Preference will be given to applicants in the Surrey and Sussex area as he would need to be fairly near to our chosen referral Veterinary Practice, possibly Fitzpatricks, should the need for specialist surgery be required in the future. This is all a big ask of a new home so we will of course consider all applications if the are prepared to travel to our chosen referral if needed.
If you are that special home please contact Julie Hammond on 01424210846
