Welcome to our new website! We are pleased to finally be able to launch our new site, please take a look around and let us know any improvements you think we can make.
We have a few Dog Tales already, but please do submit your own if you would like to see your dog featured. If you don’t have a story to tell then add your pictures to our Flickr group.
We will be using our blog section to alert you to any upcoming events, latest news and any lost dogs do keep coming back!

We had links on previous site are we going to have them again?
Well done everybody; amazing site, really good. If you need any Lab pics to add, please let me know.
May I suggest that we peddle some LRSE&C merchandise? Sweatshirts, T-shirts, polos etc.
Kind Regards,
Mike
Hi Mike – we would love it if you could add any pictures to our new flickr group – http://www.flickr.com/groups/lrsec/
Shop will be coming soon!
Fantastic new site! Could the spelling/grammar on the homes wanted page be adjusted from WHOSE NEXT to WHO’S next please?
Thanks! And thanks for the grammar spot, all fixed now.
Mike the old site had a wonderful photo galery of a large number of the adopted dogs I hope this is going to be re-instated on this site as it was one of the features that made people return regularly. Is this still in the throws of being transfered? I hope that it will return soon
Hi Don we have got a Flickr Account so everyone can add their pics to that and there is is a link on the Dog Tales page…..
Hi Don, totally agree with you. The old website gallery was something i always looked at!
Some of the photos were of my adopted dogs. Admin could you please add it to the new website?
Hi Beverley
We can’t add the old gallery so instead we have a new Flickr account
http://www.flickr.com/groups/lrsec/
where you can upload your pics – and it links form the Dog Tales page
I agree with Don and Beverley-the old photo gallery was great and I know lots of people who just logged in to see the photos! Not everyone is good on computers to upload the pictures themselves onto Flicr
Hi Scott
It is very easy to upload to Flickr – but if you have some good pics and you don’t want to have a go send them through to admin@loveyourlabrador.co.uk and we will get them up there for you……once we have more pics on Flickr they will be more prominent on the site…….
i have a lovely rescue story i would like to share but can not find a link to upload
Hi Julie
Sounds great, you can fill in the submission form here and also upload a photo.

Thanks!
I must say it is a shame we cannot now see the photo gallery, I had great difficulty in sigining into the flicker account I have now done it, but not being expert with computers find it not so personal as just seeing the pictures on our Web page. I may be doing somethin wrong i am not sure.
Hi Shelia – As soon as we have the images up on our Flickr account they will be pulled into the website on its own page. So you be able to browse them here. We can’t do this yet as we don’t have the pics up. But as soon as we do there will be a gallery back on the site.

I have waited a few weeks now hoping that this site would improve our old site had a wow factor click on immediately to see photos of rescued labs and labs awaiting homes the old site was obviously made by a dog lover and not a geek who understood that as soon as people came on it was friendly and very user friendly the only thing I think was wrong with it was updates were too slow and I am sure it is not rocket science to have allowed others to update if the person was too busy to do so. This site when you log on the site is unfriendly looks like a sales site we do not want to have to go else where to see our pictures etc. Mike you say it is nt possible to do this I am sure that it is only a soft ware problem.
I have contacted a large number of people who regularly accessed the site and about 50% have replied and so far the general oppinion is that the old site was far superior and only one so far likes it. It seems that the general opinion is that most prefered before the update the administrators are not listening to our requests or popo us. I for one in April when I allocate my monies to my charitys will be unwilling to have our hard earned funds spent on backward steps I hope our patrons take note of this as I am sure they want to se LRSC&E to prosper. I have just had a call from one of our friends asking what has happened she used to look at the site to cheer her up now she finds it impossible to use.
Don Allan
Don the Gallery is now up and looks great take a look
I am sorry you feel that way, the old site was very dated in terms of design and functionality, and navigation was very hard for anyone new to the site to find their way around which was something we looked at simplifying and making more intuitive. Which I hoped we had achieved, from looking at our analytics data people don’t seem to be struggling to find their way around.
With regards to the photo gallery, it can certainly feature on the site as I have said before, it just needs volunteers to find the time to get all the images uploaded to flickr, once they are there we can pull them in directly to this site and the end user need not even know they are being hosted on Flickr as we can create a page that shows them all on this very site.
I don’t believe the site is a backward step, it feels much more modern and usable and more inline with other charities.
Great to see the gallery back we are getting there slowly names on photos would be good people who have adopted like to see dogs names is this posible?
Hi Don – when you hover over a photo it gives the name and if you click for a larger pic the name appears too…
